Chapter 3 gave us a refresher on rhetorical situations and individual writing processes, and Chapter 5 gave us quite a few ways to analyze the job committees that are our audiences.
Did the reading on CRAP Design principles make sense? Have you heard of CRAYONTIP? Of the many readings scheduled for today, I think I found Chapter 11 to be the most helpful, so I'm curious:
What was the most interesting insight or fact you gained from Chapter 11?
Our primary goal for most of today is building your web presence and materials, but first we'll take a gander at a Google Doc that needs some filtering, queuing, and chunking (p. 259).
For next week, scan Chapters 8, 9, and 10 on "Communicating Persuasively," "Emphasizing Important Information," and "Writing Correct and Effective Sentences," respectively. I'd recommend scanning the first two and reading the third chapter more carefully.
Finally, if you'd like to take a gander at one of my cover letters, you are welcome to read this cover letter I wrote for my current position.
