Tutorial Pages

The majority of my tutorials teach undergraduate students how to use iMovie and Moviemaker. In other tutorials, I teach students to use audio software, design documents, create data visualizations, or discover alternatives to PowerPoint. If you click here or on the image of the webpage featured above, you'll be taken to an example tutorial page.

Audio Feedback Podcast

This podcast-style audio essay was created for a summer workshop for MISD English teachers. For this recording, I developed a simple 5-3-1 plan to assist teachers in delivering audio comments, and I discuss the benefits of this approach.

What's the Studio?

From 2015-2017, I served as the Assistant Director of TCU's New Media Writing Studio (NMWS), an interdisciplinary space for students, faculty, and staff to consult with our staff, attend workshops, or book technology-specific tutorials. During that time I worked with people from every college on campus, developing unique presentations to meet the needs of learners at TCU and beyond. I am featured in the video below, and what follows are multiple examples of teaching-related media I developed while serving in this position.

Tech Support Pages

With a growing interest in data visualization instruction, I was asked to create a series of "Tech" pages dedicated to the development of infographics. I have used this page to instruct classes on how to make effective infographics and I have referred to it frequently when consulting with graduate students and faculty members. Click here to view that page.

Audio Feedback Example

Similar to the example audio recording I created, I shared with teachers a samplerecording of myself delivering audio comments to a high school student. Note: this is not one of my students. The paper was shared by the student and his mother.

Secondary

Education:

Digital Language Arts Workshops

During my time at the NMWS, I helped build curriculum for summer workshops for two local school districts in 2015 and 2016, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD and Mansfield ISD, respectively. Below is an example page I created to guide the day's learning. Click here or click on the image to visit this site and observe the digital tools and strategies we taught our secondary education specialists to use.
