I also enjoy writing for public audiences. I began my career as a journalist at The Kansas City Star in 2011. Since then, I've continued writing reviews for local magazines and newspapers in Des Moines, IA; Fort Worth, TX; and Dallas, TX.

More recently, I've been interested in writing theater reviews for The Fort Worth Weekly and human interest pieces for Madeworthy Magazine. The latter of the two publications has published the work of students in a course I teach, Writing 20333: Language, Technology, and Society. Because I am passionate about encouraging undergraduate and graduate students to write for public audiences, I aim to publish monthly in order to retain and renew my knowledge of 21st-century audiences. Check out a few samples of my past work, some of which focus on issues pertinent to educators:

Note: Publication links frequently go out of date. For clips of pieces written for The Des Moines Register, Juice Magazine, or The Kansas City Star, email me at jackie.e.h.elliott@gmail.com
